We are very aware that many people will buy Siege Worlds #0 because they hope that it will be more valuable someday. So while we certainly can’t guarantee it, and ultimately the market will decide, but here’s a list of reasons why we think it might be.
It’s not just a comic book, it’s a key to the future of LightningWorks
One of the wonderful features of blockchain is that each copy of our comics is forever uniquely inscribed, and although we can’t necessarily know who each owner is, we can still reward them with many new features.
We intend for SW0 to become very sought-after because owners of it will gain so many new things, far exceeding the original value that they have paid. These features may include:
- Airdrops – Free Airdrops of rare NFTs from us.
- Auctions – Ability to participate in special auctions of rare comics, pin-ups, and other NFTs
- Discounts – Owners may be able to get discounts in future Siege Worlds or LightningWorks NFT comic drops
- Gaming Benefits – SW0 owners will be able to play in special Siege Worlds waves, and win associated prizes.
- IP License – We have some unique ideas for assigning and allowing IP to our fans that own a SW0.
- Metaverse – When we build the Siege World metaverse, owners of SW0 will gain many benefits, such as being able to enter special VIP areas available only to them
- Staking – Only holders of SW0 will be able to participate in Staking Rewards
- Tournaments – We may have special tournaments that can only be entered by holders of a SW0 copy
- VIP Area – We will have a Discord channel only for our hard-core fans that own SW0.
It’s the first from a new comic book company
Both Marvel’s first comic book and DC’s first eventually became very valuable, because they were scarce, and not many people knew about them. A good quality version of either is worth over a million dollars!
It’s the first of a new art form
It’s not just our first comic of LightningWorks, but it’s also the first of a whole new form of art. Nobody has made animated, interactive comics like what we’re doing. We believe that our style of comics will be more immersive and popular than comics, especially with a new generation of younger collectors.
It’s the first appearance of many new characters
It’s difficult to say which characters in Siege Worlds may take off and become hugely popular in their own right. We have already written stand-alone comics for some of them such as Shi Yang #1 and Nakano #1. The backstories for both Bonnie Oakland and Flamma are also sketched out, although not in script form yet.
We’re going all-out to make sure each of our characters has a great origin story and has a chance to become popular enough to be made into a successful series or even a movie! Traditionally in comics, the first appearance of a popular character is going to become valuable, even if that character doesn’t yet have its own stand-alone issue yet.
Speculators will probably buy multiple copies
Collectors of both NFTs and comics in general often buy multiple copies of first editions, hoping they will become valuable someday. Speculators may also buy multiples because they hope for more chances to get a rarer tier, or because they intend to take advantage of our forging feature to generate a more rare tier. It should go without saying that the more that speculators buy, this limits the available supply to everyone else.
Forging will reduce supply
LightningWorks Comics, as far as we know, are the only ones that include a forging features, so that holders can “burn” four copies of a single tier and receive a newly minted one that’s in a rarer tier. This will reduce the total supply continually when our fans use the feature. While we don’t know how many copies will exist in the future as forging tapers off, it will be less than the total initial mint, and could be substantially fewer if many people forge.
